LinkedIn's new feature uses artificial intelligence to help users connect
LinkedIn has introduced a state-of-the-art feature powered by AI, specifically designed for premium users, that helps in crafting initial messages to individuals who are not part of their network.
Moreover, the platform is gearing up to introduce a ‘Catch Up’ tab, which will facilitate smooth conversations among its users. In an effort to streamline user interactions, LinkedIn is poised to introduce a cutting-edge feature driven by artificial intelligence. This move comes as the platform anticipates a surge in activity following recent job cuts at major corporations like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Snap. Powered by AI, this new feature will analyze information from both the sender’s and recipient’s profiles to generate an initial message. Users will have the flexibility to modify this message before sending it. It is important to note that this feature will be exclusively available to LinkedIn Premium members, enabling them to initiate conversations with individuals they have not yet connected with.
Naman Goel, Senior Director of Product at LinkedIn, elucidated the reasoning behind the implementation of this feature during a press conference. He highlighted the common difficulty faced by users when starting conversations while networking, emphasizing the daunting nature of a blank page. In response to this challenge, LinkedIn is now introducing this new Premium feature.
Furthermore, LinkedIn had previously launched a comparable tool for recruiters, enabling them to leverage artificial intelligence in sending tailored messages to candidates. LinkedIn is making additional modifications to improve the user experience. These enhancements encompass the addition of a “Catch Up” tab, which aims to foster conversations among users by showcasing important events like work anniversaries or job transitions. As an illustration, this feature can prompt users to acknowledge their connections’ work anniversaries and suggest an appropriate opening line such as “Congratulations on reaching your 3-year work anniversary.”
Conclusion
In addition, LinkedIn is implementing changes to the placement of key elements on its platform. Notably, the feature that suggests connections will now be situated in a newly introduced tab labeled ‘Grow.’ Furthermore, the option to send connection requests will be shifted to the newsletter and events tab, as reported by TechCrunch.
